Since the official launch at St. Kitts Caribbean Gift & Craft Show in September 2006, West Indies Wear continues to expand and is now a well-recognized and sought-after island-themed fashion brand that is carried in boutiques throughout the US, Bahamas, Caribbean and now in Hawaii.
West Indies Resort Wear is the creation of international fashion designer, Kim van Loo, who was featured in some of Australia’s most illustrious design awards before leaving home to pursue her career overseas, working for such clothing giants as BILLABONG South Africa. Since sailing to the Caribbean in 2001 onboard a 34ft sloop, Kim has designed ranges for different sailing regatta’s in the Caribbean.
After living in the Caribbean heat for years and finding it difficult to find clothing that is appropriate for island life, Kim decided to create a solution. For every collection, she draws inspiration from the stunning beaches, islands and crystal clear turquoise waters of the West Indies.
West Indies Resort Wear provides island-goers with a whole range of light cotton clothing and sarongs in fresh Caribbean colours and prints. Each year the collection continues to be both stylish and practical.
